WHY A MANGER FOR A KING’S BIRTH?

In Luke and Matthew, scripture says Jesus was born in a stable and placed in a manger. Have you ever thought about what a manger really is? It is basically a trough to put feed in for animals. What a humble beginning for our Savior.

As I was thinking about the birth of Jesus, I realized everything was ordained by God from the beginning. The stable, the manger, and the inn keeper who offered all he had to the couple for the night. Little did he know this child was the long prophesied messiah that had been promised.

Looking again at the manger and it’s meaning, of a place to hold food……how ironic. John 6:35 says, Jesus said to them, ” I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst”. He came as the bread of life and was placed in a manger trough so that man could believe in Him and have life everlasting.

This is why we celebrate this season of Christmas. Jesus is truly the reason for this season. May we all reflect on the true meaning and rejoice that God loved us so much, He gave the perfect gift so all that believe can spend eternity with Him.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES.
